HOPE Center collects donations for its SAF-T kennel

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center offers victims of domestic violence who flee abuse with their pets a kennel for the protection of animals and families together (SAF-T).

The kennel enables families to safely move their pets to an on-site kennel during their stay at the shelter. Materials you need include small bowls for cats and dogs, canned food for cats and kittens, dry kitten food, small litter boxes, clumping litter, small cat toys, small cat beds, small to medium-sized cat carriers, dog leashes, small to medium-sized dog beds, flea and Tick ​​control for cats and dogs and gift cards for PetSmart and Petco. All items should be new.

Knead Community Café announces vacation break

The Knead Community Café in New Kensington will be closed Friday through January 3 for the holidays.

The café will reopen for regular operations on January 4th.
