The experienced 32-year-old also works full-time as a software engineer and data analyst, but makes the most of her free time.

She said it all started in high school whipping clothes for money – and later developing more professional sideline jobs.

Daniella, who lives near Seattle, Washington, told The Sun, “My first real sideline was when I started doing freelance web development.

“At that time I had lost my job. I was working as a waitress and needed extra money.

“Then one of my old clients from my old job reached out to me, and that’s how I got into freelance web development.

Today she has a wide range of additional sources of income coming from her free side hustle resource platform I like to babble, freelance writing and coaching.

Thanks to the success of her own business, which started in 2017, she was able to hire a virtual assistant and a freelance writer to keep growing.

This means that she only works between 10 and 15 hours per week outside of her main job.

Daniella said that she starts her day job, which she does from home, around 6 a.m. every weekday and then finishes it around 2 p.m.

This leaves her plenty of time for other things, although she makes sure that she doesn’t work on the side after 9 p.m.

Most of this is usually done on Sundays as well, when it takes about four or five hours.

That was a different story when she was just starting her business when she was spending between 30 and 40 hours a week getting it off the ground.

Although time management is “still a challenge”, she tries to avoid burnout.

Combined with $ 9,300 monthly pre-tax income from her full-time job, it means she is well on her way to becoming financially independent.

Daniella said: “We’re gone about five years because [my wife and me] Crossed country last year and that stalled things for a second.

“We haven’t really saved for six months, but we’re back on the right track to save.”

“In five years I want to be financially completely independent of a normal job and then be semi-autonomous by not having to do any daily work at all.”

She added, “I’ve never really known life without a sideline, and I’ve always worked outside of my main job.”

“Some weeks are definitely stressful, however [my business] is this creative little baby that I love to take care of. “

Write down your skills

If you don’t know where to start, the first thing to do is to write down all of the skills you have and things that others may not see as skills.

It could also be things that come to mind that you don’t even consider a skill, said Daniella.

Make a note of what you would like to try as a sideline

Next, write down the things you’d like to try as a sideline to make some extra cash.

Daniella said, “It could be something you want to do that illuminates you in some way. But it doesn’t have to be passion either.”

Check the list – and start coughing

Once you’ve made a list, Daniella recommends checking it out and crossing out the things that feel boring or make you feel uncomfortable.

It can also be things that scare you, maybe because of skills from previous jobs, work trauma, or something else.

Daniella commented, “If so, cross these out. Who cares if it makes you a lot of money, it’s not worth it.”

Look out for pyramid schemes and multilevel marketing

Before getting into the sideline, there are also a few things to stay away from, warned Daniella.

She said, “With the increase in online side businesses and the opportunities to make money online, there are a lot of scammers out there.

“The world of multilevel marketing is a red flag. You want to stay away from things like that and pyramid schemes and cryptocurrencies.

“Only get involved in cryptocurrency projects or NFT projects if you absolutely know what you are doing and the people you are doing it with.”
